The Ministry of General Education and Instruction (MoGEI) leads the GESS programme, supported by implementing partners who provide technical advice.
Implementing partners include the lead, Cambridge Education - a member of the Mott MacDonald group; BBC Media Action; Charlie Goldsmith Associates; and Winrock International.
At State and County level the State Ministries of General Education and Instruction (SMoGEI) take the lead in programme implementation, supported by partner NGOs, or what we call ‘GESS State Anchors’.
The GESS programme is funded by UK aid from the UK government, supporting the programme with £60 million towards fulfilling its objectives. The Government of the Republic of South Sudan funds Capitation Grants to primary schools.
