Dyson joined the GESS programme in 2020 as Research and Learning Lead responsible for strategic implementation research studies.
Dyson is a biostatistician with over 12 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning (MEAL) and Research both in emergency and development contexts. Dyson has analytical skills in using GIS, SPSS, STATA, CSpro, Epi Info, DHIS2, DATIM and ENA for SMART packages including practical knowledge and skills in developing surveys using PDA’s, ODK, KOBO Collect, SurveyCTO, mobile applications.
Prior to joining GESS, Dyson worked with different international organisations in Malawi and South Sudan. In Malawi, he worked with USAID/Malawi Mission, Save the Children, Population services international (PSI) and Partners in Health (PIH). In South Sudan, Dyson worked with Save the Children as Head of MEAL responsible for providing technical MEAL and Research support to country programme in Education, Health, Nutrition, Food security and Livelihood (FSL), Child Rights Governance (CRG) and Child Protection (CP).
Dyson has MSc in Biostatistics from Chancellor College, University of Malawi and a BSc in Mathematical Sciences Education majoring Mathematics and Statistics from the Malawi Polytechnic, University of Malawi.
