Head teachers receive training on COVID-19 health & safety guidelines

Head teacher training continues across all 10 states and 3 administrative areas of South Sudan.

GESS is administering training on the safe reopening of schools, including COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. There is also a focus on school registration and getting learners back to school as soon as possible!

To assist schools to safely reopen, the Ministry of General Education and Instruction (MoGEI) created an informative booklet for State Ministries of Education, County and Payam Education Offices, head teachers and teachers. The booklet follows the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 health and safety measures. You can read the booklet, here.

The booklet goes alongside a communique that was signed during the the General Education Annual Review in April 2021. This communique reaffirms the Government’s commitment to ensuring that all schools can reopen safely from 3rd May 2021. The communique can be found here.
